The next neighborhood social will be on Wednesday, July 1 at Schulz Braü. Also, the next Porch Crawl will take place in September. One of the previous hosts, who previously featured the art show, volunteered to host again and suggested scheduling the event for Saturday, September 26, to coincide with the home Texas football game. Finally, the neighborhood is still actively searching for a volunteer to take over the Social Chair position from Kelly.

Donna Spencer is the new president, taking over for Joy.

Knoxville City Planning (Melinda Wollert)

Melinda Wollert from Knoxville City Planning presented an update on the City's new comprehensive plan. The initiative, named "What's Next Knoxville," looks ahead to the next 25 years to establish a shared vision for the city and inform future infrastructure and transportation projects. She explained that the city currently relies on the outdated 2003 Knoxville-Knox County general plan. Because Knox County adopted its own plan in 2024, and due to ongoing changes in population and costs, Knoxville now needs a dedicated, city-focused plan. Once finalized, this comprehensive plan will remain in place for 25 years, outlining long-term policies and goals that will practically guide future rezoning and development decisions.

To gather community input, the city is hosting Open Houses from April through the end of June 2026. Residents can also visit the "What's Next Knoxville" headquarters at 30 Market Square on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and most Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. After the current outreach phase concludes at the end of June, the headquarters will remain open on Wednesdays. Organizers will then summarize their findings and create a draft document in the fall to collect additional community feedback. Wollert encouraged residents to complete the community survey on the project's homepage and utilize an interactive mapping tool that allows users to geotag specific areas to highlight things they like or want to see changed.
