The final proceeds from the home tour have been received. A brick for Beth Anne Booker Park has been ordered, although the process remains unclear.
The CD deposit is still coming in gradually and is set to mature in November, after which the board will decide on the next steps.
Since it has been about a year since the last donations, it is time to consider another round of contributions. As we are committed to donating 50% of our profit to charity from the home tour, there was a discussion about increasing our generosity. Brittany proposed doubling the donation for Mobile Meals from three to six times the $960 needed to provide meals for one senior for a year, which Chloie seconded and was approved (totaling $5,760). Sonja then proposed doubling the amount for schools, which Jane seconded and was approved, resulting in $1,000 being donated to each school (Fulton High School, Christenberry Elementary School, Beaumont Magnet Academy, and Whittle Springs Middle School).
The board is also open to suggestions for local charities.
Minutes
Dave Ticehurst made a motion to approve June minutes. Chloie Airoldi-Waters seconded, and the motion passed in a voice vote.

Historic Preservation
Sean Bolen, not present: No updates
Beautification
Drew Sparks for Margareth Olsson: Drew sent an email to the city regarding the park on the other side of Broadway but has not heard back. Drew also contacted several lawn services about Beth Ann park, and Augusta Lawn Care offered to service it quarterly for free. While the specifics are unclear, the owner was excited about putting a sign up for his services and including their name in the home tour calendar.
The initial cleaning of the park will incur a cost. Drew made a motion, seconded by Jane and approved to get it cleaned for no more than $1,000. Drew will follow up with them about the roundabouts.
Public Works
Dustin Durham: Will get with Drew to get a survey on the website.
Communication
Drew Sparks: three quotes for banners. Material Promotions, who were used last time, offered marine fabric banners at $165 each for 12, though the number of poles in the neighborhood is unknown. Parrot Printing quoted 25 vinyl banners at $88 each (they did Fourth and Gill), and High Voltage quoted 25 thinner vinyl banners at $72 each. Given that the vinyl banners appear to lose color quicker, Drew recommended the marine vinyl and made a motion to purchase 25 at $165 each, which was seconded by Chloie and approved.
Drew also published the new website, which now includes the domains oldnorthknox.org and oldnorthknoxville.org. The home tour is live on the site with ticket sales, and eventually, dues will also be payable there. The website provides a free email address, board@oldnorthknox.org which will function as a unified inbox. Customer ticket purchases will come from that address.
Brittany inquired about a sign for neighborhood meetings outside the church, and Drew said he would investigate it.
Home Tour
Martin Cordell: Martin hopes to generate more revenue this year due to reduced credit card fees. Currently, three houses are confirmed for the tour, but two of them are repeats (Alison and Sean/Trevor’s house on Armstrong). Trying to encourage more people to volunteer their home.
Social
Kelly Arsenault: A neighborhood social is scheduled for August 6, from 7-9pm at Schulz Brau. A porch crawl is planned for September 27, and Drew Sparks and John Golliher (206 W Glenwood) have volunteered as hosts. Still need two more hosts, though. Hosts typically receives $150 for snacks and refreshments.
