The neighborhood's goal is to donate half the proceeds from the annual Home Tour to local charities. Sean made a motion to approve donations to the five charities from last year, which totals $7,650 and includes the organizations below. Jenny seconded the motion and it passes.
Mobile Meals ($6,360)
Fulton High ($1,000)
Christenberry Elementary ($1,000)
Beaumont Elementary ($1,000)
Whittle Springs Middle School ($1,000)
Beautification
Xavier Bridges
Xavier noted that there are high school students able to weed/clean up areas. One possible place for them to work on is Beth Ann Booker Park.
Drew asked if we could spend $100 to put solar powered string lights in the gazebo in Beth Ann Booker park. Sean made a motion to purchase them and Chloie seconded it. The motion passed and the lights are now installed.
Communication
Drew Sparks
Drew resolved an error on the website, which stated that the renovations or modifications made to the back of the house did not have to get approved by Historic Zoning.
Home Tour
Martin Cordell
Home Tour committee has started meeting and we have one confirmed house along with several maybes. We need more houses if anyone is interested in being on Home Tour this year!
Social
Kelly Arsenault
The next monthly social is on Wednesday August 5 from 7-9pm at Schulz Brau. There's a suggestion on the table that if Schulz Brau has an event planned on the same day as neighborhood socials we move it to another location, such as Corner Lounge (if child friendly) or Yee-Haw.
The Porch Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, September 26.
New Business
Neighborhood Resource Fair
The City will host the Neighborhood Resource Fair on Saturday, August 29 from 9-1 at Worlds Fair Hall. It's an opportunity to learn about all the resources neighborhoods have within city government, county government, and on-profit organizations. There's usually good door prizes and raffles! Anyone interested in going can sign up here.
Upcoming Events
Monthly Social: Wednesday, August 5 (7-9pm) at Schulz Bräu
Next Meeting: Monday, August 24 (6:30pm) at St. James Parish Hall
