COMMITTEE REPORTS
Historic Preservation: Sean Bolen
Sean Bolen introduced developers and led discussion of the proposed triplex on Leonard Place. Quinn Epperly presented drawings showing several options. Primary discussion topics were staggered setbacks (which may not be permitted), gable and roof pitches, porch options (including stretching the porch across all three to give the appearance of a single porch), the nature of the homeowners’ agreement about responsibilities for common areas etc., and construction materials. The group expressed approval for the drawing labeled Scheme 3, with the single-porch element incorporated, by an informal show of hands.
Beautification: Margareth Olsson
Donna Spencer reported in Margareth’s absence. First Creek cleanup will be April 5, 9am to 1pm, with the celebration event rescheduled for that same afternoon. Donna made a motion to approve expenses of $200 for musicians for the event (which is difficult to pay out of the grant funds); Kelly Arsenault seconded and the motion passed in a voice vote. The March 8 weeding and cleanup in conjunction with the Keep Knoxville Beautiful North Knoxville campaign is canceled since we’re planning to contract landscaping help for the park.
