"North x Central" Brings Modern Townhomes to A Prime corner of Happy Holler

A new development is taking shape on the previously empty corner of N Central Street and E Anderson Avenue. "North x Central" is bringing new style and fresh energy to Old North, and allowing us to welcome new neighbors to our community.

This project, spearheaded by two Chattanooga based groups: Curbed Construction, LLC, and Connolly Development Ventures, and designed by Ally Architecture also out of Chattanooga, will feature 12 modern townhomes in the heart of Happy Holler.

This property falls outside the historic protected areas, and brings a new, modern design to the neighborhood. Keeping the momentum for growing and modernizing enriches the fabric of Old North Knoxville, demonstrating our commitment to growing our neighborhood in new ways while diligently preserving our cherished historic areas. More residents mean more support for our beloved local businesses and an even livelier atmosphere in Happy Holler!

This development marks a significant positive change for the intersection of Central and Anderson. Previously, this corner was home to a dilapidated garage and empty land – a sight many of us have grown accustomed to. The transformation is already underway, and we've loved seeing updates, including images shared by our friends at The Marlowe across the street, documenting the demolition of the old structure.

We are incredibly excited to see this investment in our corner of town. We'll be sure to update you as construction continues, so stay tuned for more progress!

Walk Through Time, Build for Tomorrow

Happy Holler's Enduring Spirit and changing atmosphere highlight Old North Knoxville

Old North Knoxville has always been a neighborhood defined by its embrace of progress, a spirit evident from its origins as a "streetcar suburb" to its rich architectural tapestry today. While the H-1 historic overlay meticulously preserves our unique historic homes, we are equally committed to forward-thinking growth.

By welcoming modern developments like "North x Central" on our main streets, we strategically enhance density and accessibility, ensuring new residents can easily join our community. This thoughtful approach allows the vibrancy of Happy Holler to expand, supporting more shops, restaurants, and activities, all while maintaining the cherished walkability and character of our beautiful, tree-covered neighborhood for generations to come.
